Hello, my name is Cristina Babaresi and I am a junior at Newmarket Jr/Sr High School. I would like to take this time at the start off my speech to thank each and every one of you here today. Without you I and many other students would not be here. As I take many steps further into my high school career I see many things opening to me. I owe a lot of gratitude to school to career and all of you. I have been in school to career since sixth grade. When I was new to a big school, I as told I could always come o the guidance office or even Miss Winterbottom. I took both of these options and used them to my biggest and best advantage. At first I was just a student ho talked to Miss Winterbottom and now I am so far ahead. In seventh grade I really started to work outside of the office with school to career. I started to give up my study hall to go to the elementary school and help with Mrs. Hatch’s first grade class. I would read to them, help them with class work, and be a good friend. In eighth grade I helped Miss Winterbottom in her office with filing. In that time she helped me with my resume, which I would use later in high school. In my freshman year of high school, Ms Winterbottom came to me asking if I would like to help a young boy. I would go to the elementary school and help this young boy learn t make friends. I felt so great helping this boy. By the end of the year he was so much fun. There wasn’t a moment of the day he wasn’t smiling. Now I can see this boy around town and still not once have I seen him frown. Today he has many friends, and plays tag at recess. Sophomore year many things happened to Newmarket. Such as the flood and the loss of a good friend and student, because of this unfortunately I was unable to complete a job shadow. The beginning of junior year I talked to Miss Winterbottom and got a job shadow at Acorns in Durham. Again I would like to say thank you to all the employers who gave a student like me the chance to experience a day in the life of our dream job. I had a hands on job shadow as a chef. I helped make fruit, vegetable, and cheese platters, vegetarian burritos, fixed up the salad bar, and made the caramel for sticky buns. I did this all with the help of a woman named Deb, and a man named Rick. I learned the ins out and outs of a kitchen. Thanks to the job shadow I was offered a job that I will so be applying for. Although I for feel very strongly about culinary I also do wish to take job shadows of physiology and dentistry. Thankfully my school has this program so I can job shadow these professions s well. Again I think I speak for everyone when I say there is such gratitude for the people ho have taken the time out of their busy schedules to come and have breakfast with us. I really appreciate that all of you make it today.
It has been great thank you for everything…
Enjoy the rest of your day.
